I am Tom, qualified and accredited CBT Therapist based in Cornwall.

I qualified as a CBT therapist over 10 years ago and have worked as a therapist in NHS therapy services, in a community mental health team, in corporate mental health service and in my own private practice.

I have been a supervisor and lecturer at Exeter University, which is a Russell group university, training students to become CBT therapists.

I started my career in mental health as a support worker, then trained as a mental health nurse and worked in a variety of different mental health settings including:

  • Acute inpatient facilities
  • Medium secure inpatient facilities
  • A variety of community mental health teams including:
  • The Early Intervention in Psychosis Team.

Personal me…

Alongside my work as a therapist helping people make positive changes in their lives and improvements in their mental health I really enjoy being outdoors and in nature.

I am very lucky to have been born, brought up and now live again in Cornwall and try to make the most of this wonderful county. I enjoy dog walks, running, going to the gym and playing hockey as well as spending time with my family.

I find that I need a healthy balance of activities including being outdoors and exercise to maintain my own wellbeing and mental health.
